Sergio Rodriguez, M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Sergio is originally from Queretaro, Mexico and has been working as a psychotherapist with both English- and Spanish-speaking clients for the last two years.

Healing in Psychotherapy is a journey towards wholeness. Psychotherapy is a process through which we begin to accept and understand ourselves by self-exploring, self-disclosing and self-discovering, out of which personal growth happens. It is not merely describing ourselves and telling our story as something fixed, but re-telling it and re-creating ourselves as the ever-flowing, ever-growing beings we really are.

Sergio has trained in Mexico, the United Kingdom, India and the USA, and holds a Masters degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Before become a full-time therapist, Sergio practiced law (he holds a JD and an LL.M.), marketing and public relations; bringing more than 20 years of experience in the public, non-for profit and corporate sectors. Being bilingual and multicultural, Sergio is able to appreciate the challenges and subtleties of living in a multicultural and diverse society.

As a therapist, Sergio works with individuals, couples, children, adolescents and families, dealing with crisis, grief, self-growth as well as specific matters, such as anxiety, sexual abuse, addictions, depression, trauma, eating disorders, sexual preferences, etc., combining contemporary, traditional and complementary approaches in an integrative fashion.

In his psychotherapeutic work, he combines modern psychotherapy with the wisdom of eastern tradition and western spirituality. He lectures and leads workshops regularly on issues dealing with human development and self-realization, in topics ranging from Non Violent Communication, deepening relationships, sexuality, living a more fulfilling life, the meeting of religion and psychology. He is the author of “Jesus in the Times of Freud” a book on Psychotherapy and Catholicism, soon to be published in Mexico. He is also the founder of “Rebuilding Yourself,” a growing community of people in Monterrey, Mexico committed to providing tools to help people recover from the ending of a meaningful relationship

Sergio is committed to facilitate growth and encourage clients to live fully while alive: “Fully living (or not) are choices we make every minute, regardless of who we are or what has happened to us. Nothing is carved on stone. We can always choose a different future or a different past. I want my clients to ponder ‘what am I here for?’”

Sergio believes that human beings are multidimensional, and that each dimension is worth exploring and developing: “Life is not a riddle to be solved or a goal to accomplish. Life IS living. Laughing, crying, making (plenty) mistakes, loving and learning. My intention is for my client to become aware of their ways of being in the world, deciding if they like the results or want to make adjustments. I invite them to become curious about their patters, aware of their options and make choices that better serve what they want to have a fuller life experience.”
