Just wanted to thank you again for the workshop and to let you know something. For the past few months I’ve been having stomach troubles due to antibiotics irritating my stomach. Every morning I wake up with a queasy stomach. Well, after your class, I decided that we would start eating dinner earlier and finish by seven. Also, slow down the eating and chew a lot. Well, the last two mornings I haven’t felt queasy! What relief.

Join Deborah in this fun and interactive workshop where we will explore the main principles of Ayurveda, considered by many to be the oldest healing science. Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life through diet & lifestyle. Many factors, both internal and external, act upon us to disturb this balance and are reflected as a change in your constitution from the balanced state. Knowledge of Ayurveda enables one to understand how to create a balance of body, mind and consciousness according to one’s own unique constitution and how to make simple lifestyle changes to bring about and maintain this balance.
You will leave this workshop with the understanding of your unique constitution and the tools to help you reach and maintain a balanced state. You will learn the best foods and optimal lifestyle for your body type, how to recognize the early warning signs of disease and how to make small changes that can bring your body and mind into balance. You will prepare and enjoy Ayurveda’s most famous dish, kitchari, which is used to restore, nourish and maintain a state of well being. Health is order, disease is disorder. When you understand the nature and structure of disorder, you can re-establish order.
Pre-registration is required for this workshop. Please contact Deborah directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 415.112.8126.
About the facilitatorDeborah Miller, Certified Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Consultant, was born and raised in New York City. From a very young age, she recognized what foods and habits were good for her and what were not. She followed her intuition and very rarely got ill as a child. In 2000, at a much later stage in her life, Deborah was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This came as quite a shock, but she decided to take control of her own health and was drawn to the principles of Ayurveda which focuses on the individual and aligning yourself with nature and its cycles. Although at first she studied Ayurveda for her own purpose of getting and staying healthy, she realized that anyone can apply a few of the basic principles of Ayurveda in their own life and begin to take control of their own health. Deborah decided to change her focus to teaching. To fulfill her desire to spread this knowledge, Deborah graduated from the Ayurvedic Institute of Albuquerque where she studied under the renowned Dr. Vasant Lad. A desire to learn Ayurveda in its birthplace led her to India where she spent 7 years furthering her studies with many of India’s prominent Ayurvedic doctors and hospitals. Deborah has been teaching Ayurvedic workshops internationally for over 10 years.
