This unique method, created by Brazilian chiropractor and yoga master Francisco Kaiut, uses sequences of simple and accessible postures to increase freedom of movement of the joints. The use of postures on the floor and wall plus the emphasis on mindfulness of sensations brings a deep sense of harmony and relaxation to the mind and body. Terry feels that this is the most profound approach to healing for the aging body that she has encountered. Come and explore this method of yoga that is truly for every body. Mats and props are supplied. No prior yoga experience is required and it is not necessary to be flexible.
Terry Vandiver studied yoga with the Iyengars in India and then developed her own style of “retreat yoga”. She has taught mindful movement (yoga) at Buddhist Insight Retreats at Spirit Rock Meditation Center for 30 years. She was certified by Francisco Kaiut to teach the Kaiut Yoga Method. Drawing on her meditation practice and 7 years working as an RN Terry brings an unusual understanding of mind, body and spirit to her yoga teaching.
